    Interim Superintendent

    Ema Jáuregui is the Interim Superintendent of the Cartwright School District, bringing over 25 years of experience in public education, including 23 years dedicated to the district. A passionate advocate for equitable education, Ms. Jáuregui has built her career on fostering inclusive learning environments, improving academic outcomes, and empowering scholars, educators, and families.

    Born in Mexico, Ema immigrated to the United States with her parents and siblings, overcoming the challenge of learning English as a second language with the support of public schools. Her early experiences inspired her lifelong commitment to education. She holds a bachelor's degree, a master’s in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on English Language Learners, and a second master’s in Educational Leadership, all from Arizona State University.

    Starting her career as a classroom teacher at Estrella Middle School, Ms. Jáuregui has since held various leadership roles within the district, earning a reputation for integrity, innovative problem-solving, and impactful results. She became the Interim Superintendent in December 2024 and will officially assume the full role on July 1, 2025.

    She is a dedicated professional who has worked in the Maryvale community for over 20 years. Ema is deeply connected to the scholars and families she serves. As a devoted mother to her two children, Alyana and JohnPaul, she draws inspiration from her family to lead with resilience and compassion. Her vision as Superintendent is to ensure that every scholar receives the resources and support they need to succeed academically and personally, empowering them to pursue their dreams and make meaningful choices for their future.

    Executive Assistant

    Christine Santos has been in the Cartwright School District since February 2006. She is currently one of two Executive Assistants to the Superintendent and Governing Board. Christine is passionate about serving the community of the Cartwright School District and loves working in education to assist students and their families.

    Linda Tighe-Parker has dedicated her entire work career to the Cartwright School District. She is passionate in supporting the highly-valued Maryvale community. Linda has always strived to provide the highest level of support to the Superintendent, Governing Board and Executive Leadership Team to ensure successful operations within the District.
